Exhibitions

Our current exhibition and installation runs until 22nd June at Three Storeys.  It highlights current projects, items from The Collection and a hint of things to come.

Ephemera

A selection of objects from The Collection that reference some of our core themes, from a 1960s newspaper article about the domination of men in the portrait world to a collage from Helen Chadwick. We also have a vintage Wunderkammer filled with items and stories relating to the displays.

SCOBY Installation

The next chapter in the Feminist Project for Rural Arts, generously supported by The Ampersand Foundation.

Events

The start of our new events programme for the summer – plenty more in the pipeline, which will be added to the site once confirmed.

The Great Train Tapestry

The completed tapestry adorns the walls of our new space – and looks magnificent.  Thanks to all involved and to GWR and Canon for their generous support with the project.

Living Archive

The archive of Elisabeth Buchmeyer-Lewis (1935 – 2018). The digitisation and cataloguing is a work-in-progress, and we discover new items every day.

Astro 2030

We’re holding a Garage Sale!

Inspired by the work of Martha Rosler, our Garage Sale – as well as offering some great bargains – challenges the viewer to take a critical look at the second-hand market in the UK, particularly the pricing policy of charity shops as they strive to find new audiences.
Head and shoulders portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II, facing the viewer, her torso in left side profile. She wears a black taffeta evening dress with the South Africa Necklace that was a 21st birthday gift from the Government of the Union of South Africa. It was later shortened to fifteen large stones, as shown here, and the remaining diamonds made into a bracelet.
