Sounds and sounding out, literal and metaphorical, are the thematic notes reverberating through this programme. Mili Pecherer, Israeli filmmaker and actress’s trailer for her 3D-computer animation shows Isaac and Abraham at the foot of a mountain where the biblical sacrifice is supposed to take place. This is followed by Talia Osteen, a US-American actress, writer, director and producer. She enlists a Shabbos Goy to solve a socially awkward problem. Then US-American actors Lee Eddy and Marco Joseph barter sounds captured in food storage containers and finally Baloji, a Congolese-Belgian rapper, hip hop artist, actor and director entices us into a mesmerizing dream of midnight blue images.
