We are Hitting the Pause Button on Film Festival
We have had the honour of a weekly online film festival, curated Heroine Lisl Ponger, for the past 52 weeks. We’ve travelled the world, visited many cultures and heard many stories in the past year.
We explored themes of race in #BlackLivesMatter, climate change and the pandemic in The Butterfly Thief and gender-based violence in I Am Unbeatable. We saw what hair meant to different cultures in Hair Stories, women’s roles under the big top in Circus! Circus! and performing mermaids in Underwater Women.
Our weekly film festival has given us the opportunity to explore beyond our bubbles in a time of so much restriction and although we are pressing pause on film festival for now, we have a funny feeling they’ll be back…
All programmes will remain on our site for you to browse at your leisure and we hope film festival by Lisl Ponger will grace our screens once more.
