IWM London honours Holocaust survivors with new gallery

The uplifting exhibition, Generations: Portraits of Holocaust Survivors, is on display at the IWM’s opened alongside the museums ground-breaking new Second World War and The Holocaust Galleries.
Over 50 photographs capture the stories of Holocaust survivors and the special connections to their families and treasured objects from their past. The portraits show survivors alongside childhood mementoes – passports and teddy bears – or sat in the homes where they have created new lives and memories. Joining these will be RPS Patron Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge’s intimate portraits of survivors Steven Frank BEM and Yvonne Bernstein, commissioned specially for the exhibition.
The exhibition features the work of RPS honorary fellows including Hundred Heroines Jill Edelstein, Joy Gregory, Jane Hilton, Anna Fox, Hannah Starkey and Karen Knorr.
Generations: Portraits of Holocaust Survivors is on view at IWM London from August 9 to January 7, 2022.
This exhibition is a collaboration between The RPS, Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, Jewish News and supported by Dangoor Education.
