Dora Maar: At Home and Abroad
The Dora Maar exhibition at Tate Modern which ended on the 15th of March was one of the last to be experienced before lockdown emptied galleries and museums depriving us of the privilege of physical presence.
We are excited to broadcast the first episode in our podcast series, “Voices”, which features London-based artist Marysia Lewandowska, one of our 2020 Heroines.
Marysia shares her views of the Dora Maar survey exhibition, which many of us may have visited, and provides a memorable reflection on her 2017 Fellowship and residency at the Dora Maar House in Ménerbes, Provence; her truly unique perspective on Maar’s life “at home and abroad” is susceptibly evoked though insights into Maar’s private and emotional solitude at the House and further by her links with the cosmopolitan life in Paris.
Marysia’s collaboration with H+H includes her contribution to the Cabinet of Remedies.
She is also taking part in Studio Visit, an initiative which allows you to book a live Zoom studio visit in which the artist talks in detail about her latest and forthcoming projects.
