Art & Activism

Free creative sessions for teenage girls at the Eastgate Centre, Gloucester, GL1 1AG  (Hundred Heroines Museum on the first floor at the top of the escalator) -Timetable below

  • Discover how women use art for protest and activism.
  • Explore how they’ve been doing this for 100+ years.
  • Learn new skills and create your own activist art.
  • Meet like-minded people.

Open Access

Our open access sessions are designed to facilitate your ideas. We can help you develop your own project, whether that’s for you personally or your portfolio. We encourage you to explore difficult topics and will point you in the direction of Heroines from our collection who have explored similar concepts! We have DSLR cameras and backdrops/lighting thanks to Canon and donations of equipment. Art supplies galore and machinery to make art prints, scan 35mm film, stencil screen prints, sublimation printing onto fabrics, use of adobe software and so on thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund! There is also opportunity to collaborate with other like minded people your own age on projects, which we think is super exciting.

Saturday Morning Art Sessions

We have two art workshops happening in our outdoor space in January. These are drop-in sessions for anyone, but we’ve designed this specifically for Parents/Guardians to spend some time doing something creative with their 11-16 year old teen girls on a Saturday morning! Why not come along to this free session and play with papercut portraits or painting with Indian ink?

Have some fun with …

Banners, flags and badges + Collage + Photography + Photomontage + Screen-printing +  Stop-motion + T-Shirt making  +  Zine-making   and more …

Drop-in sessions every week at the Eastgate Centre. For further information contact harriet@hundredheroines.org or pop in to Hundred Heroines for a chat (we’re at the top of the escalator).
