Eastgate Centre, Gloucester, GL1 1AG (11 Bell Walk & the Hundred Heroines Museum on the first floor)

Following our series of exploratory workshops led by international artist Lisl Ponger, we are now at the making stage of the Great Train Tapestry – a large, contemporary textile artwork, to be exhibited in 2024, that explores the history and stories of GWR, its relationship to Gloucester, women, borders, labour, the textile industry …

This is the last of a series of workshops exploring and experimenting with different techniques. Why not come along, be creative and add your contribution to this unique story?

In this free workshop led by artist Katie Taylor, we will learn all about applique where stitch and fabric is used to create collaged images.

Ever wanted to know how photos, fabrics and stitch can be used to create textile pieces? Or how to perfect the technique with tips and tricks? Come and find out – it will all be covered during this casual two-hour workshop at the Hundred Heroines Museum.

Free entry – all welcome.
