Be Part of History: Help Us Shine a Light on Women in Photography!

Calling women interested in photography

HH has an amazing collection of objects related to the remarkable history of women in photography, including photographs, books, and other historical pieces. This collection has grown so fast, it needs your help to be properly organized! This is a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Meet new people who want to know more about history and photography.
  • Dive deep into the fascinating world of women photographers and their contributions to the field.
  • Gain valuable knowledge about contemporary art and its connection to photography.
  • Boost your CV with transferable skills in photography, organization and data management.

No experience is necessary! We’ll provide comprehensive training to get you started.

What will you be doing?

  • Scanning and photographing the objects in the collection.
  • Creating detailed descriptions for each item in a special catalogue.
  • Carefully packing the items for safekeeping.

Where and When?

Join us at Unit 19b, Nailsworth Mills Estate (What3Words: twinkled-viewing-everybody) on Thursdays and Fridays between July 25th and August 30th.

We offer two sessions daily:

  • Morning session: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Afternoon session: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Don’t worry, there will be plenty of breaks for refreshments to keep you energized!

What do we expect from you?

A commitment to volunteering for four sessions (total of 12 hours) during the six-week programme.

What’s in it for you?

  • Learn new skills: Training in basic camera techniques, lighting, and collection care.
  • Team spirit: Show off your dedication with a cool team t-shirt!
  • Travel covered: We’ll reimburse your travel expenses to and from the volunteering sessions.
  • Fuel for your exploration: Enjoy a free lunch if you volunteer for two consecutive sessions.
  • Recognition of your contribution: Receive a certificate of participation to acknowledge your valuable work.
