An exhibition of works by Anne-Marie Michel and Chin We.

For a short time only, we are happy to present the work of two photographers whose photographic journeys provide insights into other lives.

Anne-Marie is a portrait and fashion photographer based in London. Sisters of the Road is her first personal project, in which she uses her camera as a tool to explore worlds beyond her own, telling stories of the people she meets on the way. Sisters of the Road presents the untold stories of forty female truckers. Each woman’s experiences are unique, but together the portraits tell a story of a group of remarkable women who deserve to be heard.

Chin We is a visual artist and cultural curator based in London. She is fascinated by portraiture, capturing people’s essence, and visual storytelling. Her work explores themes of identity, culture, heritage and the African diaspora. IFE NKILI, the name of her project, is a phrase from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria which means, “Come and see, come and see beauty.” Her project presents a series of striking portraits that capture the people of Northern, South Western and South Eastern Nigeria, and represents the three major tribes in Nigeria – Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba.

Their works will be shown alongside ephemera, cultural objects and soundscapes, creating an immersion into worlds far removed from our everyday urban experience.

Lifestyles and Portraiture opens at 20/22 Pimlico Road, London SW1W 8LJ on the 12 November for the private view from 6-9pm, and continues until the 16 November.
