Photographer and documentary filmmaker, Jane Hilton’s images peer into the world of life on the fringes. Choosing subjects that can be divisive, Jane’s goal through her films and images is to offer up another perspective, one that doesn’t judge but one that opens up the dialogue.
In her BBC documentary series, Love For Sale, Jane follows the lives of sex workers in small towns outside Las Vegas, Nevada and the past six years Jane has been working on her project The Last Lion Tamers, focussing on Britain’s last family of tiger and lion performers.
This January, Hundred Heroines’ Bootcampers gladly welcomed a private discussion with Jane about her career, inspiration and approach to making her subjects feel relaxed. Jane’s series Drag Queen Cowboys has recently been shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards.
Particularly inspired by America lives, you can see images from her Forever Starts Now series which looks as Las Vegas weddings and images from her famous Precious series during the takeover.
See Jane’s takeover on our Instagram from Friday 12th March.
