We are delighted to present Stand Up, Sit Down: Voices of Women in Photography, an exhibition curated by Verena Kaspar-Eisert (Kunsthaus Wien, Vienna) and Cheryl Newman (independent curator and artist). Stand Up, Sit Down is our inaugural exhibition and will be showing at Photo London in May (14-17).The exhibition continues our important mission by presenting the work of 20 women in photography, selected from the original 100 heroines, including: Alix Marie, Elina Brotherus, Ellen Carey, Gillian Wearing, Josephine Pryde, Marcia Michael, Newsha Tavakolian, ORLAN,  Susan Meiselas, VALIE EXPORT and Yushi Li.

Named in homage to the work of seminal feminist photographer and radical performance artist, VALIE EXPORT, Stand Up, Sit Down will create a space in which to explore the diversity of the photographic image in its many forms. Embracing both traditional and contemporary approaches, exploring documentary, conceptual and narrative works, the exhibition will demonstrate the complexities of these global visual cultures.

Our sincere thanks to our sponsors Spectrum and The Sorority for their generous support.
