Girls Allied in the Archive

By 28th July 2023December 19th, 2023No Comments

Every Thursday

11:00 – 15:30  at the Hundred Heroines museum in the Eastgate Centre (top of the escalator)

Calling Teenage Girls …

Following on from our creative programme, our Girls Allied summer programme involves volunteering for detective work in the archive.

Discover how to create a narrative about a time, a place or a person from a seemingly random pile of negatives, slides and artefacts and acquire the practical skills that go with it. Then see the results of your investigation featured in our autumn exhibition.

The Thursday sessions are aimed at girls between the ages of 14 and 18, but anyone is welcome to help out in the archive on other days.

We will pay your travel costs, provide refreshments and lunch and at the end of the programme, you’ll get a certificate – it’s a great way to boost your CV! And you get a free T-Shirt!

If you’re interested in joining the programme, ask a parent or guardian to email harriet@hundredheroines.org.
