WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Beginners guide to making saddle-stitched zines
  • Play with illustrations and photographs made by local artists for you to use in your zine
  • A calm, inclusive group of peers who drop in and out of the workshop
  • Drinks and snacks

COST

All of our workshops as part of this AIM supported project are free of charge- We ask that you book a free ticket on Eventbrite so that we know levels of interest for our events. If you are worried about other costs, such as train or bus fares, get in touch with youthprogramme@hundredheroines.org  to see if we can help.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is for anyone aged 16-25 interested in creative processes- you don’t need any previous experience.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Saturday 15th March – 13:00-15:30

Nailsworth Mortimer Room, Old Market, Stroud, GL6 0DU

Transport by bus: Nearest stop is Nailsworth Bus Station, which runs the 63 service from Gloucester-Stroud-Forest Green, the 620 service from Stroud-Minchinhampton-Nailsworth and the 165 service from Stroud-Nailsworth-Coaley.

Transport by car: Several free car parks are available near the Mortimer rooms, the spaces directly outside the civic centre can be used as disabled bays.

This is a wheelchair accessible venue with an accessible toilet. There is parking nearby. Please let us know ahead of time if you have access requirements so we can discuss and accommodate you.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

All materials are provided by the team. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes you wouldn’t mind getting paint or glue on. Refreshments are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own water bottle etc.

WHO IS RUNNING IT?

Lukasz Kubicki – Works as a Photography Technician Demonstrator at the University of Gloucestershire and has worked as a bookbinder in Cardiff, where he mainly focused on artists publication and handmade limited editions.

Shifra Kirby – Working with Hundred Heroines to deliver our Young People Programme as an experienced youth facilitator, Shifra is passionate about creating fun workshops that teach important processes.
