Open Call for Young Photographers & Poets 

As part of our Shirley Baker collaboration with Museum in the Park and Photo Stroud (March 2025), we are putting out an open call for young photographers (including photomontage/collage) and poets to respond creatively to the theme ‘Nostalgia & Anemoia’.

FAQ

What do Nostalgia and Anemoia mean?
NOSTALGIA (noun) a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past.
ANEMOIA (noun) the feeling of nostalgia for a time or place that has never been experienced.

Is it free to enter?
Yes. Submit your work (see details below) and we’ll do the printing and the rest.

Where will my work be displayed?
It will be exhibited at the Museum in the Park (Stroud) and on the Hundred Heroines website.

What is the deadline?
Friday 28 February 2025

Eligibility?
You must be a feminist!
Open to any gender
Ages 11 to 25

HOW TO SUBMIT

Please submit your work to youthprogramme@hundredheroines.org by Friday 28th February 2025 at 12PM to be part of the exhibition in Museum In The Park in March.

-A picture of your image or artwork, or a pdf of your poem
-A pdf with a few sentences explaining your image/artwork/poem, including your name and age. Please write this in 1st person- we want to hear what inspires you, from you!

Poems should not exceed 250 words. Images should be high quality for printing, preferably as JPEG format.

Please let us know if you have access requirements so we can discuss and accommodate you.

SMALL PRINT

The copyright remains with the artist. By entering, artists agree that:

  • Their work may be used on the Hundred Heroines website, social media channels and newsletter
  • Images of their work can be made available to the press for usage online and in print.
