Winter Solstice

For those of us in the UK, today – at 03:27 – marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and according to the Met Office, that means a staggering nine hours more of darkness than we get for the summer solstice. There’s something very special and painterly about the light at this time of year. If you’re out making photos today, tag us on social media! Interestingly, the Farmer’s Almanac flags up the 21st December at 10.27 pm as the winter solstice.
