Story-Telling Through Photography

By 21st November 2025No Comments

Free Photography Workshops

Story-telling has become one of our absolute favourite workshops. Each session is a space where young people can slow down, explore what matters to them, and discover how powerful their own voice can be. Rooted in PhotoVoice methodology, the workshop blends photography with creativity, encouraging participants to look closely, think deeply and express themselves with confidence.

We begin by exploring images, sometimes their own, sometimes from our collection, and discussing what stories photographs can hold. Participants learn how a small detail, a gesture or a shift in perspective can transform the meaning of a picture. They then experiment with taking photographs that reflect their experiences, hopes, frustrations or everyday moments that are often overlooked.

Alongside the images, we guide them through creating photography sketchbooks and how to use photography to imagine the future they want. This helps participants translate ideas into visual narratives, building both creative and emotional literacy.

By the end of the workshop, each participant has crafted a story, a unique blend of image and text, that feels authentically theirs. The images are then exhibited either in the museum or in the public realm.
